Each month, we showcase the work of a local queer artist by hosting a reception during the Downtown Bellingham Partnership’s First Friday Art Walk, and then displaying their work on the walls of the BQC Center in a month-long exhibition.
We’re celebrating the work of local artist Renee Francelene Aprahamian this month! Join us for a reception during the First Friday Art Walk on October 2, 6-8:30 PM. Renee will be at the event to chat with guests and her work will be displayed at the Center through the end of the month.
Born Texan, Renee is a local creative. Renee had never heard of Bellingham before she wandered into it, but has not wanted to leave since she arrived! Serendipity is a word attached to her existence in this town. She is always inspired to create as others share their work and talents here in the PNW.
Renee is an artist and designer who creates original artwork for textiles and home décor. Her work offers a contemporary way to experience original art—not only as something to look at, but as something that can become part of an environment. These beautiful, abstract paintings are full of color and texture that soothe and intrigue the eye. The artwork is later transformed into distinctive fabric and surface designs.
