FLINTA Night

Hello FLINTA Folks! Please join us for some Queer Cheer at our 1st Annual (Choose Your Own Holiday) Party. There will be yummy food from L & L to nosh, and Sydney, our fabulous bartender, will be mixing up some special Holiday mocktails and cocktails. Never been to a FLINTA evening and wondering what it's all about? It is a monthly get together of folks who identify with the FLINTA acronym: Female, Lesbian. Intersex, Nonbinary, Trans and Agender. We chat, we laugh, some of us drink and some do not, we make new friends and revel in seeing old ones. We're not a club, nor an exclusive group. And we're friendly!! So come party with us, wear festive clothing if you are so inclined, and let us know what holiday you are celebrating. See you there. Tuesday, December 16th from 5 - 8 pm at L & L Libations. Note: this is a 21+ event. Your hosts, Pam, Robin and Shawna

Queer Writes!

We are not looking for successful, prolific writers. We are looking for people who want to know who they really are, and want to express that.

No judgement.

No expectation.

Sharing a space for each person to document their personal journey through life.

Observations. Experiences. Dreams.

We can share the discipline of writing on a regular basis with no rules. Happy to have company as we work. Our time together is a short hello and update. Then 90 minutes of concentrated focus on writing. Then a deep breath and a thought about what happened while writing, as we leave.

Let’s build a robust group of Queer Writers sharing energy to understand how we exist.

First Friday Art Exhibit at the BQC Center

December 1st is World AIDS Day each year. This year, in partnership with Lifelong; Bellingham, we will come together in community to honor, remember, and lift up HOPE for those living with HIV/AIDS through the sharing of art and artifacts.

We welcome back Matthew Crane as our featured artist for December. As both a Queer and HIV-positive artist, his work aligns powerfully with the World AIDS Day theme. For this exhibition he shares previously private works that speak directly to his lived HIV+ experiences, honoring both personal truth and collective history. He also offers deeper insight into other pieces, revealing how living with HIV quietly weaves its threads through every layer of his creative process.

Join us for a reception during the First Friday Art Walk on December 5, 6-9:00 PM. Matthew will be at the event and his work will be displayed at the Center through the end of December.
