COMMUNITY EVENT: 2SLGBTQIA+ Photo Shootout

  • Bellingham, Washington (map)

Hi all! I am Amare (they/them) and I am planning to put together a Fall/Halloween themed (all 2SLGBTQIA+) photo shootout, the last weekend in October, here in Bellingham. A photo shootout is when multiple photographers, models, hairstylists, MUAs, set designers, and sometimes clothing/accessory designers come together to showcase their skills, and sometimes even promote locations, and/or products.

This shootout will be unpaid, and a ‘Trade for Pics’ situation, meaning this is a professional shoot where the payment is the services of the other people involved, and that all people involved may use the pictures they receive/take to build their professional portfolio, or business. The intention of this shoot, is to showcase the talents, and beauty, of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in Bellingham, and for the parties involved to leave with quality photos that showcase their talents, and help grow their business, or portfolio.

No experience is necessary, and beginners are welcome to join so they can learn, gain experience, and meet other professionals in the industry.

Models of all ages (over 18), all genders, all races and ethnicities, and all sizes, are welcome. Must be comfortable with local 2SLGBTQIA+ businesses involved (MUA, photog, designers, stylists, location, etc.) using the photos in promotional materials, or online marketing. (Models will be allowed a say in photos used, but must be comfortable with the final product being used promotionally.)

All participants will need at least an active email address to participate, to be able to coordinate photos, and photo credits. (All participants will also need to agree to give full photo credits when using photos from this shoot.)

There will be a place to chat in advance (once we know what apps most people are familiar with), so we can coordinate accessibility needs, costume/set ideas, sizes available from designers, and other things of that nature.
