Grief in the LGBTQ+ community often carries layers that the outside world doesn’t see.
The BQC is excited to continue our partnership with Accent Counseling to provide our community with another grief support group based on the needs expressed to us by our members. This will be the third opportunity for you to join a group at no cost to you thanks to a generous grant from the Mount Baker Foundation. Support groups are typically not covered by insurance but we know that they provide critical support for healing and processing.
Join us for an 8-week journey of collective healing. This is a facilitated group for LGBTQ+ adults (18+) where you can share your story, honor your losses, and find resonance with others who understand the unique intersections of queer life and loss.
Together, we will explore:
Foundations and Our Chosen Family Circle
The Uniqueness of Queer Grief
Music Therapy
The Body Keeps the Score: Somatic and Sensory Grief
Goodbye Letter
Rituals, Remembrance and Legacy
Building a Tender Toolkit: Coping and Self-Compassion
Integration, Resilience and Looking Forward
Whatever form of grief you may be experiencing, or want to be more prepared to manage in the future, this space is for building connection, processing experience, and cultivating queer support. All queer identities and lived experiences are welcome.
