Are you concerned about losing someone important in your life due to fentanyl overdose? The BQC is supporting the Washington State Friends for Life campaign by providing training, workshops and outreach to our queer community and allies during May, June and July. The campaign addresses opioid overdoses, including those from illicit fentanyl.

About the Friends for Life Campaign

Everyone deserves to be safe and know how to keep the people they care about safe too. Friends for Life is a campaign to inform people about:

  • What illegal fentanyl is and how it’s affecting Washington state

  • How to help young adults avoid opioid like fentanyl

  • How to spot and respond to an opioid overdose

  • How to get and use naloxone (Narcan)

The campaign is funded by the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA)

We all can and should do something!  Friends play an especially important role in keeping one another safe. Campaign messages are designed to inform and educate people about what illicit fentanyl is and give people specific action to take to help keep themselves and their loved ones safe.

Our queer elders, parents and young adults already support each other in many ways; and, with these education workshops, we can all learn more about what is out there and how we can keep each other safe—for Life!

We are seeking volunteers to help us deliver these messages to our community.  If you would like to volunteer, please register using the QR code in the above graphic or click here.
