COMMUNITY EVENT: Wild Whatcom Out and About

Out and About is a monthly nature program for queer adults (18+). Join us for Swans at Sunset on Saturday, February 14, 2026 from 4:30-6:30PM.

Join us to explore a very special spot where we can view the Tundra and Trumpeter Swans who visit our region exclusively in the winter. This area has a tall watch tower where we can observe the swans fly back to the lake where they spend the night after foraging in agricultural fields during the day. We frequently see Barn Owls, American bitterns, Foxes, Raccoons and lots of other wildlife while we explore here during dusk.

COMMUNITY EVENT: Using Stories to Connect

Join Pacific Northwest author and parent educator Ren Cedar Fuller for a conversation about raising children with a desire for connection with people who are different from them. We will look at children's books about friends and family members who are neurodivergent, LQBTQ+, have a disability, or are from another ethnic group. How can stories help our children engage others with openness?
